’80s goth music and post-punk bands are some of my favourites and these ’80s goth music songs are some of the best.

I’m putting these here as I love to listen to some of these when getting ready for photoshoots, especially if I’m doing a goth photoshoot.

For sure everyone will have their own favourite songs and groups but they are all great for me and these are some of the best (for me anyway).

Favourite 80s Goth Music

1. Bauhaus – Bela Lugosi’s Dead

The ultimate classic in early goth music. This song was one of the early ones that started the goth music and rank on top of most peoples favourite goth songs and mine as well.

2. Bauhaus – She’s In Parties

As were on Bauhaus already I’ll put this song here as well as it’s my 2nd favourite by them.

Bauhaus rock.

3. The Cure – A Forest

I can’t believe The Cure have been going for 40 years now…

They are one of the oldest and best goth style bands and The Forest is one of the classics from the ’80s.

That bassline!

4. Joy Division – Isolation

Joy Division is one of the best bands out of the ’80s and Isolation is one of their best tracks.

5. The Sisters of Mercy – Flood

The whole Floodland album is a brilliant gothic rock fun ride with the catchier Dominion sticking out above the others.

But… the Flood song (and Flood II for that matter) are my faves as they are so dark and brooding.

6. Siouxsie and the Banshees – Spellbound

The beginning lyrics get me going always –

“From the cradle bars
Comes a beckoning voice
It sends you spinning
You have no choice…”

7. Joy Division – Love Will Tear Us Apart Again

Another Joy Division track and their most popular one.

8. Echo & the Bunnymen – The Killing Moon

The Killing Moon is goth and rock rolled into one.

9. The Cure – Lovesong

Another Cure track. I could actually make this whole ’80s goth music list just Cure songs, to be honest, I love them so much, but diversity is needed!

Anyway, out of the other Cure tracks I could have chosen this one fits best for me as my second favourite.

10. Sisters of Mercy – Dominion

Ok, I know I said before Flood is my favourite Sisters of Mercy track but Dominion rocks too much not to be included here.

’80s Goth Music

And that’s some of the best 80s goth music (slash post-punk) tracks that I listen to.
